Today...

...we attended a memorial service for one of our Air Force members killed in action last week. I don't even have words. I can only barely imagine what his wife is feeling. All I can do is pray and offer what little comfort I can. "Weep with those who weep."

Normal, everyday happenings take on a special edge when considered in light of eternity and a tragedy like this. Watching my kids play in the yard, cuddling my little girl who is sick with the flu, holding hands with my husband.

Moments in time, common moments, moments I want to hold tightly to my heart today. Eternal moments. The very stuff our lives are made of, that we so often brush past without recognizing how important they are. Lord, help me to be aware of the wonder in each moment, in the commonplace...
